FREE STANDING GARDEN SUN ROOMS ARE CHOSEN FOR A MULTITUDE OF REASONS
The good news is that you are able to make all of the choices with regards to overall design, dimensions and other materials involved in its construction.
You may be wishing to have an office in your garden, gymnasium, party room, home cinema, extra capacity for sleep overs or a home restaurant.
There are very economical ways to achieve this, even by using a basic garden shed or timber Summer House. With various adaptions, to make them more habitable and introducing insulation within the walls and under floor, this is certainly possible. Should you only wish to spend a few pounds and not necessarily use the new structure comfortably throughout the year. There is however a word of warning, many Summer Houses offered are what appears to be a bargain price, are constructed with very thin and flimsy panelling.
You may wish to choose a conventional building structure with full cavity walls and a tiled roof or a more substantial building along the lines of a ski chalet.
Many of our customers have chosen a conventional glazed Conservatory Sun Room or a Free Standing Orangery should there be no ideal elevation on the family home, to construct this glazed protected area from which to enjoy the garden.
Over 4 million people now work from home and many running a very busy office which would be inappropriate from under stairs or a converted bedroom. A garden office will give sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of a family home and environment from which you can relax and carry out your business. Without joining a queue of carbon monoxide pumping cars, whilst sitting in frustration trying to meet appointment deadlines or shoulder to shoulder on a commuter train reminiscent of Hollywood films.
The first step would be to carefully consider how much you wish to spend, whilst being realistic in relation to floor area, design and general appearance. This must be hand in glove with what furniture and equipment you would put inside the new building, how much glass in the side elevations together with very importantly your preferred door opening configuration. Do keep uppermost in your thoughts, plenty of natural light to create an agreeable working area, appropriate blinds can always be introduced. It is best to ensure that the only bright area within your new office does not come from a computer screen or artificial lighting.
It is essential to construct a secure base, of which the foundations will depend on how stable sub-soil is within the garden. Even if a small structure it is very important that the foundations on which it is constructed and whether the soil beneath will continue to appropriately support this, is fully evaluated at this early stage. This may mean much more than a simple concrete slab to ensure long term stability.
Planning Approval & Building Regulations may not be required but there are dimensional and positional considerations together with the overall floor area. We have developed a very special drawing programme which would demonstrate not only the general configuration but the layout for furniture, desks and any other considerations within.
Our overall package provides a complete quotation including appropriate Planning Approval, Electrics, Lighting and internal decoration plus final floor finish including carpets or Karndean.
