Free Standing Buildings ARE CHOSEN FOR A MULTITUDE OF REASONS
You may be wishing to have an office in your garden, gymnasium, party room, home cinema, extra capacity for sleep overs or a home restaurant.
There are very economical ways to achieve this, even by using a basic garden shed or timber Summer House. With various adaptions, to make them more habitable and introducing insulation within the walls and under floor, this is certainly possible. Should you only wish to spend a few pounds and not necessarily use the new structure comfortably throughout the year. There is however a word of warning, many Summer Houses offered are what appears to be a bargain price, are constructed with very thin and flimsy panelling.
You may wish to choose a conventional building structure with full cavity walls and a tiled roof or a more substantial building along the lines of a ski chalet.
Many of our customers have chosen a conventional glazed Conservatory Sun Room or a Free Standing Orangery should there be no ideal elevation on the family home, to construct this glazed protected area from which to enjoy the garden.
It is essential to construct a secure base, of which the foundations will depend on how stable sub-soil is within the garden. Even if a small structure it is very important that the foundations on which it is constructed and whether the soil beneath will continue to appropriately support this, is fully evaluated at this early stage. This may mean much more than a simple concrete slab to ensure long term stability.
