Curved Sunroom Overlooking Poole Harbour
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
This curved sunroom project was especially challenging in many respects.
We were invited to construct on an older property overlooking the upper reaches of Poole Harbour where many of the original properties had been extensively modernised.
It was very important to design a new structure, which not only complimented the modern re—designing of this property but provided superb views across Poole Harbour.
i cannot remember who suggested a curved front elevation but perhaps the customer who had recently retired from his substantial engineering company inspired the innovated ideas.
We are always happy in rising to a new challenge and were easily able to design a structure which with the appropriate manufacturing expertise, could achieve the special requested design.
In close liaison with our customer, a unique design and construction project for the glazed curved sunroom, to compliment a very creative re-development.

It required detailed structural calculations for manufacturing and introduction of the supporting steel frame work above the large panelled curved sliding doors.
The south elevation of this property was exposed to maximum sunlight together with prevailing winds. High Specification Powder Coated Thermally Separated Architectural Aluminium System was selected for durability and long term performance when constructing this curved sunroom.
Toughened Safety Glass with Heat Retentive ‘A’- Rated Low ‘E’ Plus Argon was used throughout. The roof glazed with Heat Reflective Active Easi-Clean.
A unique glazed sunroom project with special challenges and we are delighted that not only were the customers entirely pleased with the completed structure, it has received many favourable comments when viewed from the outside.
