BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

A very special structure with a unique story from its initial conception.

We were approached by our customer, who lived on the Isle of Wight, with many challenges.

Having been highly recommended by his architect’s colleague, who we dealt with on the mainland, our company was very much preferred to develop the project, as long as we could professionally deal with the many Planning issues.

The property was Listed, which usually means Hardwood is the only material acceptable to Planning Authorities. However, as there were old style black metal windows and our customer had a senior position with large a national construction company, we were pleased to be considered as the best potential provider.

There had been a number of exchanges between the customer’s architect and local Conservation Officers with some too-ing and fro-ing, as is often the case with Listed properties.

A very carefully and detailed proposal was put together by ourselves, supporting the use of Powder Coated Architectural Aluminium using a black Powder Coated Finish, to be in harmony with the existing windows.

Much diplomacy and liaison were required to send an unaccompanied parcel across the waters to the Isle of Wight with various samples.

These, however, were collected at the dockside by the Conservation Officer and after what had been a previously extended effort to gain Planning Approval, the detailed Application with supporting considerations, based on our extensive experience won the day within a matter of weeks. A welcome relief to our customer and feather in the cap for us!

All concerned were pleased to agree the High Specification Powder Coated Architectural Aluminium Framework complimented this property’s original black metal windows and there have been many very favourable comments from the family’s visitors.
